magine accessing the Internet from any computer on your network without using an individual telephone line, modem or lengthy connection routine. Then imagine each Internet user moving through web pages many times faster and all at the same time!
The Kansas Web Network brings the Internet directly to each desktop in your network using high-speed digital circuits from your local telephone company and a small, inexpensive router connected to your network
Circuit Types: You can connect to the Kansas Web network using T-1, Frame Relay, ISDN and switched 56k services. In the Southwestern Bell coverage area we are recommending the DigiLine ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) lines. ISDN services consist of three channels, two 64kbps bearer or B channels and one 16kbps datalink or D channel. The two B channels can be bonded into one single 128kbps line. Then the data can be compressed to allow up to 512kbps of information to pass through the system. Kansas Web, L.L.C. is not an agent for any of these telephone companies, but we can assist you in selecting and ordering the service you need.
Network Routers: A network router has a connection for the type of circuit that you are using, and a port for connection to your network. Routers come in different sizes and with varying network port options including: Ethernet, AppleTalk and Token-Ring. Once the router is connected to your network it looks at the information traveling in packets on your network cabling. If a packet is addressed to another station in your network, the router passes it on. If the packet is addressed to the internet or another office network, the router sends it across to Kansas Web and onto its final destination. We currently recommend equipment from Ascend, 3Com, Cisco, Livingston/Lucent, and Farallon.
